Postal rates have changed

Due to the increase in postal rates we have had to increase our rates in line with them by five baht per item, rates are now as follows

Pickup from shop = free

Standard Thai post = 15 baht per item

Express mail service (EMS) = 20 baht per item

We charge you the same price as it costs us to send the books to you, we do not make profit from packaging and postage. We have resisted this increase for a long time but it was costing us a large amount of money to remain doing so, we feel that this is still a superb rate and you are not charged any extra for packaging.

New prices, New home

We have moved the books to my home, I am checking them and many now have lower prices, books are being put in individual plastic bags to keep them clean and dust free, some are old books and price reflects this, hopefully this way we will be able to keep better track of them, all books marked with a star at the end of the authore's name have been checked and repriced, any not starred please enquire by email for the price and condition, we also have books in a well read condition these are cheap and are non returnable (100bt or less non returnable). we hope to build up a good stock of clean, cheap, secondhand books, that can be delivered to your door, we will also try to find a book for you if we have not got it in our collection, as you can imagine this will take time to update the website, but email us about any query's you may have. well the 200 books arrived and I was quite disappointed quite a lot of them are M & B and although all there not in very good condition so they will be going in the sale box at the shop 10 - 15 baht each, some other books will be going in the sale box as well, but about 50 books will be going on this site, we are going to get some bookshelves made and fitted as the original ones are now very overcrowded

We have nearly finished updating the database here at Farangbooks, secondhand books online Thailand, just the last few to do now :)

This website seems to be taking off with a steady stream of visitors each day and we are very very happy about this. There are still a few tweaks to go the main one being that we will have to include the website name in all the book synopsis to hopefully increase our rankings in the search engines. We have had to purchase more server space as we have added more stock but we now have double what we had before.

Unfortunately I will not be able to run the Buckarooz site from here so I will be installing my own webserver from home but there should be no downtime as the system is stable and is switched on 24/7 already working as a net and file server for all the machines on the local network.

Brrrr, it's cold here in Nan, Thailand.

Welcome to the all new website of Farangbooks, secondhand book shop online, all back end systems have been implemented and should be ready to run, please report any errors you encounter so we can fix them before your next visit. You can leave comments, questions and suggestions on our contact page and we really appreciate the fact that you have taken the time to do so, a very big thank you. The used book databases are nearly complete but we are adding more each day so be sure to come back and check often ;)

To do list:

Write a contact page with a customer input form (today).
Finish adding our current stock to the database.
Advertise, advertise, advertise.
Search engine optimization.
Obtain more space on our server as we are at the very limit and we have many more products to add.
Create the Buckarooz customer group and add the group products.
